Rum and Reggae

2nd September 2018

Can you name a more iconic duo than rum and reggae? We certainly can’t!

Our first ever rum and reggae festival, delivered in partnership with Pembrokeshire-based brand Barti Ddu, was a soaring success.
Over 400 of you joined us as we transformed our tipi into a slice of the Caribbean for August Bank holiday. Our fresh and fruity homemade rum punch was flowing as party goers ravelled lagoon side. We had a smokey Cajun BBQ on the go too.

Tunes provided by local band Reggae Knights got the crowd going with an epic performance of classic reggae covers. Ennio Maccaroni provided a stunning two-hour vinyl only set in the late afternoon as the sun began to set. Finishing the evening Toby O’Connor, no stranger to our lagoon side parties, turned up the beats and funk to end the evening.

The event certainly rounded off the bank holiday in style and the rain even held off for us by the end. Big thanks to everyone who came, helped out and to Barti Ddu for putting it together with us.

We can’t wait for next summer already!

Wave forecast: perfect - every 90 seconds!
