15th October 2019

St Helen’s – The Saints – are possibly the most dominant Super League side rugby league has ever seen. And it was a huge pleasure to welcome them here for a critical team building session at our brand-new Adrenaline Indoors facility earlier this month.

This was no ordinary week for The Saints. Their team building away day with us was scheduled to take place just a couple of days before a hugely anticipated semi-final play-off: a high stakes battle against Wigan Warriors for a place in the Super League Grand Final.

Fans will know that this worked out pretty well for St Helens. In fact, two weeks after their resounding win over Wigan, the Saints went on to win the Super League with a spectacular Grand Final victory over the Salford Red Devils at Old Trafford on October 12, 2019.

Coach Justin Holbrook told us he wanted his squad to enjoy an alternative adventure activity session based on teamwork, leadership and team bonding. And we have to agree, these seem like pretty decent skills to want to bring into focus given the circumstances…

Our team duly put together a challenging itinerary, balancing team activities and challenges at Adrenaline Indoors with some down time for food and drinks at our surf-side bar & kitchen.

The guys took a hike up Mount Snowdon – just a few miles down the road from us – as a day-before-warm-up for their session at Adrenaline Indoors.

Once limbered and rested, it was time to check in, get briefed and harnessed up on for a full day of action and adventure with us.

It has to be said that the lads put our equipment through its paces, pushing themselves to the max on activities and challenges at The Caves, Aerial Assault and Slides, Rock and Drop and on Zip Line. Pushing their boundaries in a slightly competitive arena? Not surprisingly, perhaps, it turned out to be right up their street.

Did they enjoy it? We think their pictures – and their subsequent huge victories in both the Super League Semi-Final and Grand Final – tell their own story. But this is what their head coach Justin Holbrook told us:

“Our day at Adventure Parc Snowdonia was a thoroughly enjoyable day for everyone. Your staff were extremely well organised, very friendly and knowledgeable. The way that the group was divided up into smaller groups to ensure that everyone got through all of the activities smoothly was a credit to your staff”.

“The whole day was run in a very professional manner, but more importantly all of the boys had fun. It was a perfect session for our boys leading into the play-off series.”

Assistant coach Ian Talbot added:

“From the second that the lads arrived, the registration, the meals and all of the activities were all well organised with smooth transitions and no time was wasted at all.

“All of the boys enjoyed the activities, with some personally paying extra to spend more time surfing. The meals were excellent, more than ample for a hungry rugby league squad!

“As a club, we value the importance of team building and alternative activity sessions, they are an integral part of our schedule. The players and staff have all mentioned that this has been one of the best we have ever visited, and we hope to visit you again soon.”

St Helens, we salute you. Congratulations on your huge Super League victory, and we hope we’ll see you again soon too.

A flagship and award-winning adventure on the edge of the Snowdonia National Park in North Wales, we offer all-weather, all-year-round teambuilding adventures and away days, with great hospitality and glamping accommodation on site too.
