Beginner Waves (without a lesson)
This Beginner Wave session is suitable for surfers with previous experience looking to practice their skills without instructor assistance. There is no lesson included in these sessions. We recommend that you have had at least one Beginner lesson with us before you book this wave. Find out more about our lessons here
All wave sessions start with a short safety briefing in our surf academy. You can expect to catch up to 18 white water beginner waves per session. You must use our soft top boards on this wave.
There will be a maximum of six surfers in each beginner bay. Please note: you must wear wetsuit boots (supplied by us and included in your wetsuit hire) in our beginner bays.

WATER DEPTH
The lagoon has variable depths from 0-2m, you must be confident in deep water to participate in any lagoon activities.
WETSUIT RENTAL
You can rent wetsuits for your session by adding to your basket during checkout. We stock a full range of winter wetsuits from O’Neill!
Surfboards
Board hire is included with your beginner waves! We have a huge range of awesome foamies from Softech, with sizes ranging from 6′-9′ to get you sliding and smiling!

IMPORTANT INFORMATION
- Adult prices apply to surfers aged 13 and over
- Children aged 8-12 must be accompanied by an adult lagoon side or in the water, adult can also be taking part in the session.
- Children aged 5-7 are welcome to surf with us but this session is not suitable. They should be booked into child-only lessons and must be accompanied in the water by a non-surfing adult.
- Full length wetsuits are required for all surfers
- Not suitable for people with, but not exclusively with, the following conditions:
- Heart conditions (without medical consent)
- Severe neck/back condition or pain
- Severe obesity
- Epilepsy
- Pregnancy
- Persons with injuries/ailments/conditions whether physical or mental that could be adversely affected by participation
